RFI generator
What is a construction RFI generator?
A construction RFI generator helps project teams draft a Request for Information with the fields architects and engineers need: clear subject, drawing or specification citation, question, proposed solution, and cost or schedule impact. Better structure gets faster answers and fewer clarification loops.
Aroclad
Construction OS
- Captures drawing/spec references and needed-by dates
- Prompts a proposed solution so reviewers can decide faster
- Exports a file you can attach to email or the project RFI log
RFI generator FAQ
How to write RFIs that get answered — and when to use software.
At minimum: RFI number, date, project, submitter, needed-by date, subject, question, drawing or specification reference, optional proposed solution, and space for the official response plus cost and schedule impact.
This generator captures the same practical fields many teams use when an AIA form is not contract-mandated. If your contract requires AIA Document G716, use the official AIA form for submittals that must match that format.
The generator helps you write one complete RFI. An RFI log tracks many RFIs over time. When response aging, ball-in-court, and drawing links matter across the team, move the register into Aroclad WorkHub RFIs.
